Candra Naya - The Hidden Sanctuary

Most of Jakartans might have passed Jl. Gajahmada - a main (and traffic-ky) road connecting Harmoni and Kota Tua, but probably, not many of us aware that there is a beauty old Chinese house complex hidden in high-rise Novotel superblock. It's called Candra Naya - formerly written as Tjandra Naja- a very nice example of how a city development should preserve the heritage.

I went there last week. And all I can said was like, "Whoaaaa..."

Respect to the developer of the hotel & apartment that not only saved the building, but also refurbished it and makes Candra Naya become the icon of the block. Today, Candra Naya often used by Indonesian-Chinese communities for seminars, festivals, or gathering. Find out more about Chandra Naya here.
